Delo in 2024: A lookback
The Texaco Delo range has featured in many of the blogs available on our website in the last few months, discussing our products and our distributors, as well as reflecting on the many talking points impacting the industry. Here are some of our favourites below.
Product Solutions – Texaco Delo 600 and downtime
Our lookback at Delo begins with an insight into the challenges presented by vehicle downtime, which can be extremely detrimental to any business. We reflected on how Texaco Delo 600 can help offer a solution, delivering robust protection to engines and emission systems across mixed fleets, and helping to reduce downtime.

In March, we announced that TCK Kolding, a leading independent truck repair centre in Denmark, had partnered with Texaco Lubricants' Danish distributor, Uno-X Smøreolie, to exclusively use Texaco Delo lubricants in its workshop. The switch provided TCK Kolding's customers with access to Texaco’s premium lubricants, known for extended oil change intervals and improved fuel economy. Uno-X's customer-centric approach, including technical advice and bulk delivery options, also played a significant role in securing the partnership.
May saw us provide an exclusive look at the journey of a Texaco Delo lubricant, from its initial conception to its implementation into on-highway transport operations, construction and agricultural businesses. Throughout the life cycle of each lubricant, stringent processes are put in place to ensure that every Delo product is designed for effectiveness, longevity, and efficiency. These processes include thorough testing and refinement, which involves a detailed analysis of the lubricant’s behaviour under extreme conditions to ensure it can withstand the real-world scenarios in which it will operate.
More Complex Aftertreatment Systems Require Rethinking Oil Formulations
In June, lubricant expert, Shawn Whitacre gave us his thoughts on the repercussions of more complex aftertreatment systems in diesel engines and how this in turn was placing a burden on Diesel Particulate Filters (DPFs). Shawn highlighted the need for new engine oil formulations to extend DPF life and discussed that with a global surge in DPF demand and potential supply chain issues, products such as Texaco Delo 600 ADF would play a crucial role in minimising DPF maintenance and extending service life.
