Texaco celebrates 90 years in the Netherlands

Texaco is celebrating 90 years in the Netherlands, having begun operations in the country with its purchase of the Dutch Continental Petroleum Company, on January 15th, 1930.

Today Chevron markets its Texaco branded lubricants to customers in the Netherlands as well as selling Chevron marine lubricants in the port of Rotterdam to seagoing vessels.

Over the years the world has evolved and so has our brand, but one thing has remained the same – our commitment to providing our customers with reliable, high-performing products that meet their evolving needs.

This brand strength continues to be reflected in the number of Dutch companies, which include power generation, on and off-road automotive and inland shipping companies, who rely on Texaco’s enduring performance and coolants for their equipment.

We introduced a new personality to our promotional activities in 2018 as Dutch Olympic Triathlete Rachel Klamer become a Texaco Havoline brand ambassador. Rachel is one of the world’s leading female triathletes, not only wearing the Texaco star with pride at international professional triathlon events as she competes across the world, but also using her strong media presence to promote the brand through social media, including the recently launched Texaco Lubricants TV YouTube channel.

Commenting on the anniversary, James Welchman, Manager Marketing EMEA, Chevron Lubricants said: ‘It’s fantastic to be able to celebrate our 90th year of operations in the Netherlands, it remains one of our strongest markets and we look forward to many more successes in the future.’
