Texaco HDAX 9200 delivers as Schwaneberg Biogas extends oil drain intervals beyond 5,000 hours
Recent performance results from Schwaneberg Biogas GmbH & Co. KG show that the use of Texaco HDAX® 9200 has contributed to improved operational reliability and significantly extended oil drain intervals. The findings provide insight into how lubricant choice can support efficiency in demanding biogas engine applications.
Operating two biogas plants in Germany with a total of three gas engines, the company forms part of a regional energy network that generates on-site electricity while repurposing thermal output to support nearby agricultural facilities supplying biomass for production.
A key component of the plant’s success is its modern MWM TCG 3016 V12 engine, running in flexible biogas operation with a 600 kW output. Since 2021, Plant Manager Jens Stock has relied on Texaco HDAX 9200 to meet the engine’s demanding performance requirements.
The results have far exceeded expectations – oil drain intervals have extended from an initial 2,800 hours to an impressive 5,500 hours, all while maintaining stable oxidation values and consistent engine efficiency.
Stock attributes this progress to a comprehensive maintenance strategy, supported by close collaboration with BEV Service GmbH, a partner organisation that advises biogas operators and oversees procurement and technical optimisation. Regular oil analyses, fine-tuned engine calibration, and the use of clean intake air have further helped to deliver exceptional performance outcomes.
Reliability, durability, and technical support were decisive factors in Schwaneberg’s trust in Texaco HDAX 9200. Stock confirms: “The oil works – no complaints, stable operating times, and the analysis results are consistently strong.”
As always, Texaco Lubricants is on hand to support biogas operators with high-performance solutions that help to drive efficiency, reduce downtime, and encourage long-term operational success.
